General Day Use areas in Barton, Eagle Fern, Feyrer and Metzler Parks are open year round.
Picnic Area Availability and Reservations
- There are several picnic areas that are available for reservation May 1 through Sept. 30 at all parks.
- One sheltered picnic area in each park is reservable Oct 1. through April 30.
- Reservations must be made a minimum of 3 days and up to one year in advance
- Unreserved sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Rental fees payable to the Park Ranger.
- Parks with reservable picnic areas have a variety of softball, volleyball and horseshoe facilities. Reservations can be made for the softball and volleyball areas at no extra charge.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited except by permit in reserved areas.
- Rental fees are due at the time of booking the reservation.
- $12 non-refundable reservation fee per site
- A $100 refundable security deposit is required with each picnic area reserved. The security deposit for Barton Park’s Event Area and Eagle Fern’s Area 2 A-Frame is $250.

Other details
- Parking fees are not included with picnic rentals
- An Activity Permit is required for each requested item (such as amplified sound or a bouncy house); the fee is $25 for each item requested. Proof of insurance is required for items brought in by a third party vendor.
- A Caterer Permit is required for caterers/food trucks present and operating on-site; the fee is $90. Proof of insurance is required.
- Sports equipment is available for rent at each park. Rental fee is $15 with a $20 deposit.
